To whom it may concern,

I am writing you this letter to thank you for the scholarship for $200.00.  I have put it to good use at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and I began school in September which was very exciting and a little scary to leave my family in California; but higher education is very important.

I would like you to know that I am working part time at Sport’s Authority here, and I have a grade point average of 4.0 and I made the director’s list!

At this time, I sincerely thank you for the scholarship and I am looking forward to both working on motorcycles and learning to ride them.  I have never ridden a motorcycle but I think they are great and I am very eager to learn.

In closing, I want you to know that I also earned a scholarship from my school.  They do not hand out many for a young man like me, it means a lot for the help I received especially being raised by a single mother who always taught me the right thing to do and pushed education.
